When all the weather forecasts agree you know there’s an inevitably about what is coming around the corner. And so it was last weekend when, at mid afternoon on Saturday, the snow duly arrived; bang on time. As we all know, snow is slippy stuff and by and large it’s great for sliding on – wicked if you’re a skier, boarder or sledger; not so good if you’re a biker or a motorist though...

Chelsea Park, our local park here in Sheff, was rammed on Sunday morning with masses of sliders of the sledging kind. Uplifting stuff lying on your back blatting down the hill on a couple of kgs of red (inevitably…) plastic. But why is it that there’s always a bush or a tree to stop you dead in your tracks?
