Ian Parnell has just reviewed Climbing:2011 for Climb#71. Here’s what he said…

This is the 7th yearly calendar by Keith Sharples and once again it’s a veritable visual feast of climbing. A wide range of climbing games are showcased from Peak grit high ball bouldering, through to Pembroke deep water soloing and crumbling Scottish sea stacks. Whilst the concentration is on climbs in the UK, there are a few foreign holiday destinations to keep us dreaming at our work desks.

The calendar is A3 format with a clear useable layout. A couple of useful extras include a 13th month (don’t we all wish we had more time to climb!) and a pull out A2 year planner. The latter actually has my favourite shot of all, making the bold Pembroke testpiece Ghost Train look like something in Spain only minus the bolts – just the sort of thing you want to ogle at on a daily basis and remind yourself just why you should get down the wall that evening. Calendars are available in specialist climbing shops or direct from the photographer (free postage) at www.keithsharplesphotography.co.uk

Finally, all orders received before last post on 21st December should be received by Christmas. Get your copy here –
