So if that was 2011 it must be time to dust off the NY resolutions then and get cracking…

Looking back through my photo archive the first pixs of 2011 were of a white-out here in the Peak, however, there’s not a sniff yet of any serious amounts of the white stuff this year - nor will there be with temps up in double figures. So whilst looking back is always interesting and it can provide useful references points, it’s not always an indication of how the future is going to pan out nor is it necessarily a good road map for the best way forward.

Two sporting upsets in late 2011 caught my eye and show how important it is to keep pushing on in the face of adversity. Firstly, after playing second fiddle for years, Investec’s Loyal finally beat Wild Oats XI in the Sydney-to-Hobart Yacht Race and secondly bottom-of-the-league Blackburn Rovers pipped the colossus that is Man U in a thrilling end-of-year game. Two great examples of pushing on hard – inspiring stuff…

My list of NY resolutions and ‘must-dos’ is petty long – and it would be a dangerous business to publish - but 2012 will see some changes in the KSP landscape. The new website should be on-line with an all new photo-centric look featuring new photo galleries, new articles and a new blog layout. I’ll post more info on all this as the timeline becomes better defined.

Without letting the cat out of the bag I can say that I’ve already started on photo capture for Climbing 2013 whilst on a trip down under in December. Yeph, I finished off 2011 stomping around ACT (Australian Capital Territories) and NSW (New South Wales) in Oz where despite some pretty lousy weather (the wettest spring/summer for 60 years they reckoned…) I managed to rack-up a considerable catalogue of images of all kinds of stuff. I’m working though said pixs now and will get something on-line asap so watch this space.

Meanwhile – happy NY to all readers; let’s hope it’s a good ‘un and well done the crew on Loyal…
