As the climbing season gets underway and people start putting their climbing plans together I’ve spent a bit of midnight oil getting the very latest Climbing FactFiles sorted and up on-line…

The idea behind the Climbing FactFile is that they support the Climbing calendar AND prove a useful source of info as well. I try to ram as much beta as possible into the one-page summary for every location/climbing area featured in the Climbing calendar and make them available as free-to-view or free-to-download. They are currently available as a web-page or as a printer-friendly pdf download on my website. You can get to them from the menu system on any page on my website. Click here to check out the latest FactFile.

I introduced the Climbing FactFiles back in 2006 with Climbing: 06, the second Climbing calendar, and I’ve done them for every month since. Right now there’s a grand total of 44 individual FactFiles written. Note to self having checked website - get webmaster to reload the 2006 Climbing FactFiles which seem to have gone walk about!

By any standard that a lotta beta – to be exact that a lotta free beta! Trouble is, as things stand at the moment the web-site ‘front end’ for the Climbing FactFiles needs a make-over so that accessing the FactFiles is way more user-friendly. The great news is that we have been working on exactly that recently and the new system is nearly ready for uploading. It’ll be way easier to search and access for similar or themed locations. Hopefully it will be rolled out in the next couple of week so watch this space…

Meanwhile, here’s the latest Climbing FactFile as a low res…
