A week after the UK’s favourite climbing internet site, UKClimbing.com, linked to my blog entry Mecca: A Route in Crisis, the total page pull-downs were so high that it bust my bandwidth allowance and closed my blog down! All I can say is thanks dudes – no really, I’m serious, thanks for stopping by at my blog! Hopefully, your appetite for Mecca news was satisfied…

I’m still a blogging neophyte to be honest but I reckon I’m slowly getting my head around the blog business. Don’t worry though, I’m not about to start Twittering, not just yet anyway! All that it needed to get the blog fixed was the appliance of a little bit of science and dosh. Now that my blog is back up and running, I’ve added blog maintenance to the (never-ending) list of weekly must-do tasks – hopefully I’ll keep on top of bandwidth from now on!

My webmaster has also been fiddling with the blog, or so he tells me, so that it’s easier for you to comment on my blog entries. Previously you needed to log-in to leave a comment – well now you don’t. So if you are like me and logging-in drives you to logging-out, then fear not, we’ve sorted it. So go right ahead and add comments. All I would ask is that they are constructive – disagree by all means, just get in there and let rip (politely) of course!

Finally, I guess you want a Mecca update right? Sorry – can’t say. Actually that ain’t accurate; I could say – but don’t want to just yet! More in a wee while…
