Blogging is a funny old business and one which, as I’ve said before, I’m only just really getting to grips with. Last month readers out in the blogosphere broke my blog - not once but twice. This was due, in no small way, to readers clicking thru’ from the UK’s favourite climbing website, www.ukclimbing.co.uk ....

I’m suitably humbled, and take it as a massive positive, that readers take time out of their busy lives and stop by my blog to check-out my posts. To be honest, the two posts that sent my blog stats through the roof were close on scoops; scoops that is, in the desperately myopic world of climbing. After all, it’s not everyday, that Cry Freedom gets repeated and a route as famous as Mecca starts falling to bits.

For those of you that like stats, over 10,000 pages were pulled down on my blog in June which strikes me as pretty flippin’ brilliant. My blog entry about Drew Haigh repeating Cry Freedom was a pretty popular entry but even that was totally blown away by the pull-downs about Mecca falling to bits. An insane number of you checked out that entry. I’m not gonna speculate why you all found it so interesting – but I will tell you that the final curtain is about to go up on the story so watch this space as they say.

So thanks to you all for stopping by and taking a skeet at my blog – I’ll bust my butt to keep up with the posts despite the hurdles that are stacking up between me and the keyboard...

Here’s a shot of me working on a spot of DIY instead of working on my next blog entry – grim stuff ain’t it! And yes, I had been using PPE – not that it did a great deal of good…
