In case you haven't been down to your nearest climbing wall or shop recently, the July edition of Climber has been out for a wee while now sporting a cover image and destination article by yours truly to the Canadian Rockies. As our cousins from across the pond would say, I’m totally stoked with the spread!…

The Rockies are one amazing place; a summer destination that should be on everyone’s list of ‘must visit’ locations. Truth be told though, many climbers haven’t got a radar-lock on the Rockies yet. Hopefully this piece will change that and more climbers will venture out west as a result.

I’ll be posting an article on KSP as soon as possible that includes the Climber text plus a load of additional beta about the tourist stuff in the area. I’ll pull a new image gallery together as well so please watch this space…

Climber Jul 09 cover featuring local Marcus Norman on Whale Back (5.13cF8a+) on Acephale Upper Wall (snatched form the Climber Mag website – I’ll post a decent image as soon as I can).

The first spread from the article showing Vikki Weldon on Girl Drink Drunk, a short but testing 5.12a/F7a on Acephale’s Lower Wall. Bet that’s not how you had thought the Rockies would have looked like..

The middle spread featuring a scenic of Lake Louise and a shot (taken by Vicky, one of my daughters) of me on an un-named highball at Takakkaw Falls

The final spread from the piece showing Rich Akitt on the crux of Altius 5.12c/F7b+ on the Upper Wall at Acephale…
