I’m blown away to be one of the four photographers featured in the cover story, Vertical Take, in the latest edition (29th April 2009) of the British Journal of Photography (BJP). Vertical Take, is a behind-the-scenes look at ‘climbing with the mountaineering photographers’.

A week or so back I got an email out of the blue from Diane Smyth, Deputy Editor of the BJP. “We’re planning a feature looking at action/adventure photographers and would love to include you.” Under the circumstances it would have been churlish not to agree. It was a total surprise to me that the pro-shooters’ weekly mag would want to turn their spot-light onto climbing photography but mine wasn’t to reason why, just lend a hand!

And the other three photogs by the way are none other than fellow Sheffield photographer, Ian Parnell (htpp://ianparnell.com), and then two States-side shooters Keith Ladzinski (htpp://ladzinski.com) and Cory Rich (htpp://coreyrich.com). Esteemed shooters indeed – quite happy to mix it in company like that!
