The 2009 edition of Tribe, the Go Ape! in-house magazine, features a 6-page spread of top wads from a variety of adventure sports including an image from my collection of Steve McClure on his Malham mega route, Overshadow.
In-house magazine are becoming almost de-rigour and Go-Ape! illustrates it’s core business through Tribe. For those that haven’t come across Go-Ape!, this now main-stream fun activity for adults and kids, involves aerial (roped) play-ground with zip-wires, slacklines, high platforms etc. etc. all up in the trees. They’re so into adventure that they wanted to pay tribute “to a handful of daredevils with the Go Ape spirit racing through their veins”. Enter ‘bat-hanging’ Steve McClure – home run I’d say!
