Rockfax’s latest edition of their award-winning guide, Western Grit, has hit the shelves with a double page spread of Upper Tor Wall (HS) from my Kinder collection used as the opening shot. The image, featuring Jon Barton soloing Upper Tor Wall, the uber classic, serving as the backdrop to the guide introduction.

If you haven’t been up onto Kinder yet, the best time to visit is over the summer months when, and only if, the temperature in the valleys gets ‘up a bit’. That said, Upper Tor is located on the southern edge of the Kinder Plateau so it does pick up whatever sun is going. Be warned though, the grit up there is rough, the climbs are tough and the walk-in alone might kill you before you get there! But if you think that you're up to the job, check-out Western Grit before you go.
