In the week that Wrossie (a.k.a. Jonathan Ross) jacks, Keith Sharples Photography hits the beeb (again)...

OK, I’m exaggerating by a yard and a mile – but I can’t resist it! Chris Gore, my old climbing chum, had a favourite saying; “if I’ve told you once, I’ve told you a million times not to exaggerate”. However, getting images used on the BBC must be worth a bit of noise?

I got the heads-up on Friday night. “It’s the BBC calling” says the voice on the other end of the phone. “We’re hoping to re-run the Inside Out film of Steve McClure climbing at Malham on Monday night in the North East and Cumbria regions and we’d like permission to re-use your stills images in the piece”. I go from brain-dead to super alert in a nano-second. “Sure”, I blurt out - it would be churlish to say otherwise.

So at 19:30 on Monday night 10th January 2010 all NE and Cumbrian viewers will be able to tune in and see Steve McClure on Batshadow (F8c+) at Malham. My stills of Steve on his former testpiece, Overshadow, feature in the film which is introduced by presenter, Jamie Coulson. Hope you enjoy!

But don’t worry if you miss it because you’ll have a week or so to check it out on iplayer before it disappears.

And if you are reading this after the iplayer has moved on, here’s the shot of Steve on Overshadow that they included in the clip…
